This refractometer is designed to measure the concentration of urea (AdBlue), the freezing temperature of antifreeze, wiper fluids and the density of battery acid. AdBlue concentration is measured in the range of 30% to 35%.
Battery acid is measured in the range of 1,100 to 1,400. The freezing temperatures of ethylene glycol antifreeze liquids are measured in the range of 0°C to -50°C.
Propylene glycol antifreeze is measured in the range of 0°C to -50°C and wiper fluids are measured from 0°C to -40°C.
It is very easy to calibrate the refractor meter and it is done by placing 2-3 drops of distilled water on top of the prism block.
You then point the refractometer in the direction of natural light source and look into the eyepiece. You will see a circular box with divisions through the center. If necessary adjust with a mini screwdriver to the zero line of the scale.
