This handheld refractometer is used for testing wine and juice with 3 scales for measuring sugar content and concentration in degrees Oechsle (°Oe) 0 to 140° Oe. It also measures 0 to 26° kmw Nabo and 0 to 32% mas Sach.
Mas Sach and KMW Nabo units are used to detect grapes and grape juice is an important indicator of sugar concentration.
It is very easy to calibrate the refractometer by placing 2-3 drops of distilled water on top of the prism block.
You then point the refractometer in the direction of a natural light source and look into the eyepiece. You will see a circular box with divisions through the center.
If necessary, adjust with a mini screwdriver to the zero line of the scale.
