Overview

This handheld refractometer is used for measuring the freezing temperature of automotive cooling systems. It is used to measure the concentration of ethylene glycol from 0% to 66.6% and propylene glycol from 0% to 62.4%. It can also be used to check the proportion of electrolyte in the battery from 1.100 to 1.400sg. The device has automatic temperature compensation in the range of 10°C to 30°C that regulates temperature while the device is in use. To use this refractometer one needs to start by cleaning the prism using a soft damp cloth, place 2-3 drops of the sample on the prism, point the refractometer in the direction of the light source, perform focus correction and then read the results.
