Overview

A petrol mist blower covers ground that a hand pump sprayer cannot. The engine drives air as well as liquid, so the chemical leaves the nozzle as a fine mist that carries into a crop canopy, up into coffee or mango trees, and onto the underside of leaves where the pests actually sit. For crop protection, pest control and epidemic spraying over any real acreage, this is the machine that turns a full day into a morning.

The 42cc two-stroke engine puts out 2.9 horsepower and runs to 7 500rpm. The 20 litre tank is the working limit for what a person can reasonably carry, and the frame is built around that. The back frame is shaped with a shoulder strap and a wide bottom section, which keeps the centre of gravity low so the load sits on your hips rather than pulling you backwards. The chemical tank and the fuel tank are built into one unit, which keeps the machine compact on your back instead of hanging off it.

What fuel mix does it use?
Petrol mixed with two-stroke oil at 25 to 1. Mix it in a clean can before filling. Straight petrol will seize the engine.
How heavy is it when full?
It weighs 10.5kg empty. A full 20 litre tank adds about 20kg more, so consider carrying part fills on long jobs.
