70Ah Energy Storage Battery

An energy storage battery for a solar or backup power system. The battery is the part of the installation that decides how long you keep running after the sun goes down or the grid goes off. Panels and an inverter without storage give you power while the sun is up and nothing afterwards.

This is the 70Ah unit, the smaller of the two Steco storage batteries we stock. Amp hours are the measure of how much energy the bank holds, and what that translates to in hours of supply depends entirely on what you are running. Lights, a television, a router and phone charging draw very little and will run a long time. A fridge running through the night is a different calculation, and anything with a heating element, such as a kettle, a shower or an iron, empties a bank quickly. Before you buy, add up what has to stay on and for how long, because sizing a battery by price rather than by load is the mistake that gets made most often.
