Overview

A pocket meter for checking how wet timber or a wall really is before you commit to the work. Roofing timber that goes up too wet will shrink and twist once the iron is on, and a plastered wall that still holds water will not keep paint.

The meter reads moisture content and shows it as a percentage on the LCD. There are two ranges, one for wood from 5 to 50% and one for building materials from 1.5 to 33%, each stated at plus or minus 2%. A hold function freezes the reading so you can take it out of a corner you cannot see into and still read the figure, and ambient temperature is shown as well.

Yes. It has a separate building materials range of 1.5 to 33% at plus or minus 2%, which covers plaster, mortar and screed.
Can I leave a reading on the screen?
Yes. The hold function keeps the last reading displayed, which helps when the meter is in a place you cannot see.
