Overview
Four hundred watts of folding panel is enough to be the day supply for a camp, a site office, a borehole pump controller or a house running on a power station through an outage. It is the size people move to when a 100 Watt panel has proved the idea but takes all day to put a useful charge back into a battery.
The advantage over roof panels is that nothing is fixed. There is no mounting rail, no roof penetration, no electrician on the roof, and nothing left behind when you move. You open the panel where the sun is, plug it into a power station or a charge controller, and fold it away at the end of the day or before a storm. That also means you can angle it. A panel squared up to the sun and turned two or three times during the day gathers far more than the same panel lying flat, and at 400 Watts the difference is worth the walk. It also means the panel is not a permanent target on a roof, which matters where a compound is left empty during the week.

How long does it take to charge a power station?
That depends on the sun, the angle and the size of the battery. The supplier gives no charging figures, so we cannot quote a time.
Does it need a charge controller?
If you are charging a plain battery, yes. A portable power station usually has one built in. Tell us your set up and we will confirm.
How do I order and receive it?
Place your order online and we will call you to confirm the item, the price and the delivery. You can collect it from our shop on Moi Avenue in Nairobi CBD or we can send it by courier.
