Small Generator Cover, Weather Protection

A cover for the generator that lives outside the back door or beside the store. Most generators in Kenya spend far more hours standing than running, and standing is what kills them: dust settles in the air filter and the cooling fins, rain finds the control panel, and the sun takes the paint and the plastics apart over a couple of seasons.

This is the small size in the range, for a compact portable set rather than a large frame machine. It goes on when the generator has cooled and comes off before it starts. That is the whole job, and it is a cheap piece of kit next to the cost of a corroded socket panel, a rusted fuel tank or a recoil starter full of grit. If the set stands where children and poultry pass, a cover also keeps hands and feathers off a hot exhaust for the first hour after a run.
