1200W Sander Polisher, 180mm, 800 to 3200rpm, 22mm Bore

This is the machine for bodywork and for stone. At low speed with a wool bonnet it polishes paint, cuts back a respray, removes oxidation from a faded panel and brings a gel coat back. At high speed with an abrasive disc it sands filler, feathers an edge, flattens a weld and takes rust and old paint off steel. Panel shops, boat yards and stone fitters all use one tool for both jobs.

Variable speed between 800 and 3 200 revolutions a minute is what makes that possible, and it is not a convenience. Polishing compound must be worked slowly or it dries, burns the paint and throws itself across the workshop. Sanding wants speed. Setting the speed to the job is the whole skill of using a machine like this. The 1 200 Watt motor holds that speed when you lean into the work instead of bogging down. A spindle lock means the wheel comes off with one spanner, and a sturdy D shaped auxiliary handle gives the second hand something to control the torque with. A sanding pad, a wool polishing bonnet and spare carbon brushes are supplied.
