Overview
A die grinder is the tool for cleaning up metal work: grinding back a weld, deburring a cut edge, opening out a hole, polishing a die or a mould, and getting into the corners an angle grinder cannot reach. This one is cordless, which in a workshop full of trailing leads is worth more than it sounds.
The motor is brushless, so there are no brushes to wear and replace, and more of the battery reaches the burr instead of turning into heat. Speed is set in six steps from 8 000 to 25 000rpm, and that control is the whole point. A carbide burr, a mounted stone and a polishing point each want a different speed, and running one at the wrong speed either glazes the work or destroys the accessory. The neck is shaped to be held like a pen for control, and the heat outlet has a dust proof mesh over it, which matters in a workshop where grinding dust is in the air all day. It weighs 1.35kg without a battery.

What collet size does it take?
The catalogue table states 6mm and the price list says 6.35mm. Ask us to confirm before you order burrs, because the shank has to match the collet exactly.
Is the battery included?
No. The battery and charger are excluded. It takes the Ryobi 18V lithium ion batteries you may already own.
