18V Cordless Random Orbit Sander, 125mm, 6000 to 12000rpm

A cordless random orbit sander is the finishing tool for work that is not next to a socket. Sanding a fitted door, a window frame in a new building, furniture on a veranda, a gate in the compound, or a repair on site. The random orbit action leaves no swirl marks, which is what matters when the surface is going under varnish or gloss, and the 125mm pad covers ground quickly for a battery tool.

Six speed steps from 6 000 to 12 000 revolutions a minute cover the range properly. Run slow on paint, varnish and filler, which clog and melt at speed, and fast on bare timber. The 2mm orbit is the middle ground between fast cutting and a fine finish, so it prepares a surface and finishes it without changing machines. A dust collection box keeps the work visible and most of the dust out of the air, though it is not the same as an extractor. Six sanding papers come with it, two each in 60, 120 and 240 grit, which is enough to take a surface from rough to ready. At 1.22kg it is light in one hand.
