Overview
Washing a dusty vehicle with water alone drags the grit across the paint, and that is what puts the fine scratches into a bonnet over time. A foam nozzle changes the order of the job. You coat the vehicle in foam first, leave it a few minutes to soften and lift the dirt, then rinse it off. Most of the grit comes away with the foam rather than under your brush or cloth.
The nozzle does this by drawing detergent in and mixing it with the water and air as it leaves the head, so what lands on the panel is a thick clinging foam rather than a soapy spray that runs straight off. Foam that stays put is foam that works. Beyond vehicles, it suits boundary walls before painting, plastic water tanks, greasy workshop floors and machinery, where the soak is doing the work and the pressure is only there to rinse. It fits a high pressure washer in place of the standard nozzle.

What detergent should I use?
One made for pressure washers. Washing up liquid foams poorly, can strip wax and often dries into streaks on paintwork.
