Steel Work Bench with Shelf, 900 x 600 x 1200mm, 600kg Load

The top is 18mm thick woodwork on a 1.6mm powder coated steel frame. Timber is the right surface for a bench because it takes a knock, holds a clamp, does not blunt a chisel that slips, and can be replaced when it is worn out. Powder coating on the frame is what stops the rust that gets into a bare steel frame standing in a damp store. The feet are pre-drilled, so the bench can be bolted to a concrete floor for stability or fitted with castors if it needs to move around a workshop. Under the top there is a shelf, which is where the things you use every day live instead of on the bench surface. It arrives flat and assembles with the bolts and nuts supplied, and the supplier states it is made in South Africa.
