Overview

A charger for lead acid and gel batteries in a car, a pickup, a tractor or a standby set. Twelve amps is enough to bring a flat battery back in a few hours rather than leaving it on overnight, and the durative rating of 8 amps is what it will hold steadily.

The ampere gauge on the front shows the charge going in, so you can see the current fall off as the battery fills instead of guessing when to stop. Two modes cover a car battery and a smaller motorcycle battery, which is important because the same current that suits a car battery will cook a small one. The protective insulation guards against reversed polarity, over charging and short circuits, which covers the three mistakes people actually make with a charger.

Questions and answers

Can it start my car?
No. It charges the battery, it does not jump start an engine. Give it time on charge before you try to start.
Will it damage a small motorcycle battery?
Not on the motorcycle setting. Use that mode for small batteries and keep the car mode for car and pickup batteries.
