Overview

The small battery on the 18V platform. One pack runs any tool in the Universal Power Platform range, so the drill, the grinder, the jigsaw and the blower all share the same batteries and you are not buying a charger with every tool.

At 1 500mAh this is the light pack: it is the cheapest way to have a spare, and at 0.36kg it keeps a drill or a driver light in the hand for overhead work. It charges in 45 minutes, so a second pack means there is almost no waiting. Deep discharge protection cuts the pack off before the cells are drained past the point they recover from, which is what kills lithium batteries that are run flat and then left. It is also the pack people keep as a spare in the vehicle, because it costs least and charges fastest.
