Overview
The pack most people settle on. Three thousand milliamp hours is twice the run time of the small battery for less than twice the weight, and it is enough to get real work done with a grinder, a saw or a blower rather than just a drill.
It fits the whole Ryobi Universal Power Platform range, so one pack serves the drill, the impact driver, the circular saw, the jigsaw, the reciprocating saw, the grinder and the garden tools. Deep discharge protection cuts the pack off before the cells go past the point of recovery, which is the single biggest cause of a lithium battery dying early. Charge time is 90 minutes on the XPP-2700 charger. It is the pack the cordless kits are usually supplied with, so a matching spare is easy to justify.

Questions and answers
Which charger does it use?
The XPP-2700, which charges it in about 90 minutes. It also works with the other chargers in the range.
Is it worth it over the 1 500mAh pack?
For a grinder, a saw or a blower, yes. For a drill or a driver the smaller pack is lighter and often enough.
