Overview

A wall chaser cuts the channel that conduit, cable and pipe are buried in. The alternative is a hammer and chisel, which gives a ragged chase of uneven depth that takes twice the plaster to close up and looks it afterwards. A chaser cuts two parallel lines at a set depth and you knock out the strip between them.

It is an electrician's and plumber's tool for first fix work: running conduit down a block wall to a socket box, dropping a pipe run into a wall before plastering, and chasing out a wall that has already been finished when a circuit has to be added. The 1350W motor runs at 11 000 min-1, and the depth is adjustable, so you cut just deep enough to bury the conduit without cutting into the block further than you need. The dust ejection port sends the waste away from the line rather than into your face, and there is a safety switch on the on and off trigger. It weighs 4.2kg and comes in a storage case.

Questions and answers

What is a wall chaser for?
Cutting the channel that conduit, cable or pipe is buried in before plastering. It gives a straight chase of even depth, which a hammer and chisel cannot do.
Can I connect it to a vacuum?
It has a dust ejection port, which is meant to take the waste away from the cutting line. Connecting it to a vacuum is strongly advised, since chasing dry produces a lot of fine dust.
How do I order and receive it?
Place your order online and we will call you to confirm the item, the price and the delivery. You can collect it from our shop on Moi Avenue in Nairobi CBD or we can send it by courier.
