Overview

A bench grinder for a home workshop or a farm store: sharpening a panga, a jembe, chisels and drill bits, taking a burr off a cut end, shaping a small bracket. Bolted to a bench it turns a job that takes twenty minutes with a file into one that takes two.

The opti-view lens over each eye shield magnifies the work, which is the difference between guessing at a drill bit edge and actually seeing the land you are grinding. The tool rests adjust fully, so you can set the angle once and repeat it on every edge instead of freehanding each one. The eye shields and spark deflectors adjust too, and the on/off switch is large and easy to reach without looking.

150mm wheels, 16mm wide, with a 12.7mm bore.
Is it strong enough to sharpen a panga?
Yes, working in light passes. At 150W it will slow if you press hard, and pressing hard also overheats the edge.
