Overview

A compact cordless driver drill for assembly and fitting out: kitchen units, shelving, door furniture, ceiling boards and the hundred screws that go into finishing a room. It is a driving tool first and a drill second, which is what most people actually need one for.

Sixteen torque settings plus a drill position set how hard the tool pulls before the clutch lets go. That is what stops a screw head stripping, a screw pulling through chipboard, or a hinge screw snapping off in hardwood. There are two mechanical speed ranges: 0 to 400 min-1 for driving, where torque matters, and 0 to 1 200 min-1 for drilling, where speed does. Maximum torque is 22Nm. The chuck is keyless and takes bits to 10mm. An LED lights the work, the shell has a soft grip, and the heavy duty motor and gearbox are built to keep working. It weighs 1.0kg, which is the figure you feel in a ceiling.

Questions and answers

Does it come with a battery?
No. The battery and charger are excluded, so it suits somebody who already owns Ryobi 18V batteries. We also stock the kit version with a battery and charger included.
Why two speed ranges?
The low range gives torque for driving screws and the high range gives speed for drilling. Using the right one is what keeps screw heads and drill bits intact.
How do I order and receive it?
