Overview
The starter kit version of the 18V driver drill: the tool, a battery and a charging connector in one purchase. If you are buying into the 18V range for the first time this is where to start, because the battery and charger you get here also run the other cordless tools in the range.
It is a driving and drilling tool for assembly work: putting up shelves, hanging doors, fixing ceiling board, building furniture and drilling up to 19mm in timber. The 21+1 torque settings set the point at which the clutch slips, which is what keeps screw heads intact and stops screws being driven straight through board. Two speed ranges cover the two jobs: 0 to 400 min-1 for driving under load and 0 to 1 500 min-1 for drilling. The shell is compact with an LED work light, and it takes the XB-1500, XB-3000 and XB-4000 batteries. It weighs 1.3kg.
