Overview
The kit version of the 18V impact drill: the tool, one battery and a charger together. It is the sensible buy for somebody coming into the cordless range for the first time, because the battery and charger also run the other 18V tools.
The impact mechanism is built in, which means it drills block and light masonry as well as driving screws and boring timber. Torque is 40Nm from a heavy duty motor and gearbox, and the 21+1 settings control how hard the clutch pulls before it slips, so a screw can be driven flush into board or run home in hardwood without stripping. The chuck is a robust 13mm self-locking type, which holds a bit properly under hammer action, where a cheap chuck lets go. Drilling capacity is 35mm in wood and 10mm in steel, and the impact rate goes to 5 120. There is an LED work light, and the tool weighs 1.6kg.

What comes in the kit?
The drill, one 18V lithium ion battery and a charger. A second battery is worth adding if you drill masonry often, since hammer drilling drains a pack quickly.
How is it different from the version without the battery?
The tool is the same 40Nm impact drill. This one includes a battery and charger and is listed at 1.6kg with the larger 35mm wood capacity.
