2000W Thicknesser Planer, 318mm Width, 8m/min Feed

A thicknesser takes rough sawn timber and makes it flat, parallel and to a known thickness. For a joinery workshop, a furniture maker or anyone buying timber rough from a sawmill, this is the machine that turns cheap boards into usable stock, and it pays for itself in the price difference between rough and dressed timber.

It planes up to 318mm wide and takes material from 5mm up to 153mm thick, with a cut depth adjustable from 0 to 3mm. A height scale on the machine lets you set the thickness you want instead of creeping up on it by trial. The power feed pulls the board through at 8 metres a minute at a steady rate, which is what produces a parallel finish rather than the ripples you get feeding by hand. Two high speed steel blades do the cutting and built-in rollers support the material. The safety knob in the on/off switch prevents an accidental start, and an extraction chute connects to a workshop vacuum.
