Overview
A bench grinder set up for sharpening. Chisels, drill bits, axes, scissors, knives, lawnmower blades and the panga and jembe that come in from the shamba blunt: all of it is quicker on a wheel than on a file.
Three things here are not on a plain grinder. The light comes on by itself when you switch the machine on, so you can see the edge instead of working in the shadow of your own hands. The coolant drip tray is built in, so water is right there to dip the piece in before the edge overheats. The wheel dresser cleans metal build up off the wheel face, which restores the cut and keeps the wheel flat and true. Two wheels are fitted, one coarse for shaping and one fine for finishing the edge.

What does the wheel dresser do?
It cleans metal build up off the face of the wheel and trues it up, so the wheel cuts again instead of rubbing and burning.
