An oscillating tool does the awkward jobs no other tool reaches. Cutting a pipe flush against a wall, trimming a door frame to let flooring under it, removing old grout from between tiles, cutting a neat square out of a plasterboard sheet, scraping off hardened adhesive or sanding into a corner. The blade vibrates through a small angle rather than spinning, so it cuts what it touches and stops at anything it is pressed against.

The 300 Watt motor runs between 15 000 and 22 000 oscillations a minute through a 3 degree angle. A small angle at high speed is what gives a controlled cut instead of a tool that jumps out of the line. The blade mounts at several positions, so you can set it at the angle the work needs and it will not slip round under load. Accessories change without a spanner. Four come with it: a 32mm high carbon steel plunge cut saw blade, a rigid scraper blade, a sanding base plate, and 60 and 80 grit sandpaper, in a carry case.
