Overview
A cross line laser puts a level line and a plumb line on the wall at the same time, and everything you hang, tile or fix afterwards works from those lines. It replaces a spirit level, a pencil and a chalk line for hanging cabinets, running a tile course, fixing a shelf bracket or setting a row of switch boxes at the same height around a room.
The self levelling is what makes it useful rather than just clever. You set it down roughly level, and within a few seconds the internal pendulum settles and the lines are true. There is no fiddling with bubble vials and no chance of building a whole run of tiles off a line that was two degrees out. The 10 metre working range covers a normal room wall to wall. The laser is a 635Nm Class II unit, which is the ordinary class for indoor line lasers, and it works best out of direct sunlight where the line stays visible. At 0.11kg it goes in a tool bag pocket.

Questions and answers
Are batteries included?
No. It takes two AAA batteries and they are not supplied, so buy a pair to go with it.
Can I use it outside?
It is made for indoor use. The red line is difficult to see in bright sunlight, so outdoor work needs a laser detector or shade.
