Plunge Saw Track Rail, 1400mm, Aluminium, 2 Rails and Clamps

This is the rail that makes a plunge saw accurate. The saw base runs in the rail groove, so the cut follows the aluminium edge rather than your hand, and a full sheet of ply or MDF can be broken down on two trestles as straight as if it went through a table saw.

It comes as two 700mm sections that join with the fastener supplied to give 1 400mm of guided cut, which covers the length of a standard sheet in one pass and splits into shorter lengths for smaller work and for carrying. Two rail clamps hold the rail down on the workpiece from underneath so the saw does not knock it out of place halfway through a cut, and the hex key for the joint is in the box. The extrusion is aluminium, made to a straight tolerance so the rail does not bow along its length, and the splinter guard strip on the cutting edge is trimmed by your first cut so the rail edge then sits exactly where the blade cuts. That strip is also what stops the top face of a veneered board from chipping.
