Push Reel Mower, 380mm Cut, 5 Steel Blades, No Power

A reel mower has no motor, no cable and no fuel. You push it and the wheels turn the reel, so it costs nothing to run and it works anywhere on the plot regardless of whether there is power. It is quiet enough to use early in the morning without waking a household or annoying a neighbour.

The cut itself is different from a rotary mower and better for the grass. Five heat-treated steel blades pass across a fixed bottom blade and shear each stem the way a pair of scissors does. A rotary mower spins a bar fast enough to tear the grass, and torn tips go brown within a day, which is why a rotary cut lawn looks dull after mowing while a reel cut lawn does not. Cutting height sets to 15, 25, 35 or 40mm. The 217mm polymer wheels are high impact and cleated, so they grip rather than slip when you push.
