Overview
Square profile line in the 2.0mm size, two loops of eight metres. It fits the same heads as round 2mm line, and the reason to choose it is the shape of the cut.
A square section has four corners, and at trimmer speed those corners act as edges. Instead of thrashing a thick stem until it tears, the line slices it, which means fewer passes over the same patch of coarse grass and less material wrapping itself around the head. Anyone clearing rough ground rather than tidying a lawn notices it within the first few minutes. The cost is wear: corners round off faster than a round line does, especially when the line is being run along a block wall or over gravel, and square line is dearer per metre. Two loops in the pack keeps a spare on hand, because this is line you will get through.

Questions and answers
Is square line worth the extra?
In thick weeds and coarse grass, yes, because it cuts rather than thrashes. For edging along concrete, round line lasts longer for less money.
Will it fit my head?
Any head rated for 2mm line takes it. Square line loads onto the spool the same way as round line of the same size.
