Twisted 2.0mm x 8m Trimming Line, Twin Pack

Twisted line at 2.0mm, two loops of eight metres. This is the gauge for larger electric trimmers and small petrol machines, in the profile that people ask for when a plain line is either too noisy or not cutting cleanly enough in thick growth.

The spiral form does two useful things. It breaks up the airflow along the strand, which takes the sharp whistle out of the machine and makes a long session less tiring for the operator and for everyone within earshot. It also puts working edges along the line, so thick stemmed grass gets cut rather than thrashed, and the strand is less likely to fuse to itself on the spool when the head warms up. At 2mm there is enough mass behind those edges to make a real difference on the kind of growth that comes up along a fence line.
