This is the saw for a metal fabrication shop, a gate and grille maker, a garage or a workshop that cuts square tube, angle iron, solid bar and pipe every day. An angle grinder with a cutting disc does the same job, but it burns discs, throws sparks across the workshop and leaves an edge that needs dressing before it can be welded. A band saw cuts cold and square, and the offcut falls away clean.

Being a 2-in-1 machine, it clamps into the stand for repeat cuts on stock held in the quick release vice, and lifts out for free hand work when the steel is already fixed in place. The vice swings from zero to 45 degrees for mitres, which is what you need for frames and corners. The gravity feed system lets the weight of the saw carry the blade through the cut at its own pace instead of you forcing it, and that is what keeps a band saw blade alive. Variable speed from 0.7 to 2.4 metres a second means you can slow down for hard or thick section and speed up for thin wall tube. There is a safety switch, an adjustable auxiliary handle and an LED lamp over the cut.
