This is the jigsaw for a workshop rather than a drawer. Cutting a sink opening in a worktop, shaping a shelf end, cutting a curve in ply, notching a board round a pipe, opening a panel for a socket, cutting a patch into a floor. A jigsaw goes where a circular saw cannot, plunges into the middle of a board and follows a line you have drawn.

Pendulum action is the feature that separates this from a basic model. The blade is pushed forward into the cut on the up stroke and pulled clear on the way down, which cuts far faster in timber and clears the sawdust out of the kerf instead of grinding it. You switch the pendulum off for metal, for plastic and for a fine finish where you want a slower, cleaner cut. Variable speed from 800 to 3 000 strokes a minute works the same way. Slow for metal and plastic, which melt at speed, fast for wood. It cuts up to 65mm in timber, the base adjusts for bevels, and a dust blower keeps the line visible with a port for connecting a vacuum. A blade, a wrench and a dust nozzle are supplied.
