Overview

A mitre saw cuts the same angle on piece after piece without measuring the angle again. That is what it is for. Door and window architrave, skirting, picture frames, roof battens, ceiling trim, furniture rails and any job where two lengths have to meet in a corner and look right. Cutting those by hand with a saw and a mitre box is slow and rarely as tight.

The 850 Watt motor drives a 190mm blade at 5 000 revolutions a minute, and it is supplied with a tungsten carbide tipped blade with 24 teeth. Capacity is what to check against your work. At 90 degrees it cross cuts 40 by 105mm, and at 45 degrees it takes 20 by 39mm. Those numbers cover trim, battens, small framing and most household joinery, and they are the honest limit of a saw this size. A large easy access knob adjusts the bevel, and the handle has a soft grip because you are pulling the head down repeatedly. A dust extraction outlet and a bag catch part of the dust, which matters when you are cutting indoors.
