Overview

A 255mm blade on a fixed head gives you depth rather than width. Seventy five millimetres of cut with the head square is enough for a fence post, a roof purlin, a heavy rafter, a door stile or stacked battens, which is the kind of timber a smaller 210mm saw has to be turned over to finish.

It is a carpentry saw for a workshop or a building site: cutting framing timber to length, mitring corners, squaring the ends of rough sawn stock. The 1 500 Watt motor drives the blade at 5 000 revolutions a minute and the 24 carbide tipped teeth are the general purpose count for crosscutting construction timber. Capacity is 75 x 125mm with the table square and 45 x 125mm with it swung to 45 degrees, so mitred corners on heavy section are within reach. The laser marks the line on the timber before the blade arrives, which saves pencil marks and second guessing on repeat cuts, and the large trigger safety switch is easy to operate with gloves on. At 10.1kg it can be lifted onto a bench by one person and moved between jobs.

How thick a timber will it cut?
75mm at 90 degrees and 45mm at 45 degrees, both up to 125mm wide. The head does not slide, so 125mm is the width limit.
