Overview

Dual bevel is the feature that earns its keep on a long job. The head tilts both left and right, so a pair of matching mitres on opposite ends of a skirting run, a cornice or a roof fascia can be cut without lifting the timber off the fence and turning it round. On a single bevel saw every second cut means handling the workpiece again, and every handling is a chance to get the angle backwards.

A 305mm blade on twin slide rails gives the biggest cut in this range: 105 x 330mm with the head square, which takes a heavy beam, a stack of battens, a wide board or a step tread. At 45 degrees to the left the saw still handles 60 x 330mm, and 60 x 230mm with a bevel added. The motor runs at 3 800 revolutions a minute, which is the speed a large diameter blade wants, since rim speed rises with diameter. The scales on the table, the fence and the bevel are easy to read from standing, the laser marks the line, and the large trigger safety switch prevents a knock from starting the blade.
