Ninety millimetres deep by 340mm wide is a large capacity for a mitre saw, and it is the reason to buy this one. A stair tread, a worktop, a wide shelf, a heavy beam or a bundle of battens all go through in a single pass, and so does most of the timber that stops a smaller machine.

The 2 000 Watt motor is the largest in this range of mitre saws and it is matched to the work, since a wide blade buried in thick timber loads a motor hard at the end of the cut. Forty eight teeth is a middle count that crosscuts framing quickly but still leaves an edge tidy enough for joinery, so it suits a shop that does both. The head runs on a dual rail slide, the scales on the mitre table, fence and bevel are marked clearly, and the laser sets the cut line before the blade reaches the work. Extension supports on either side hold a long piece level instead of letting it tip, which is what pinches a blade and spoils the cut. At 14.3kg the saw still moves between a workshop and a site.
