This is the mitre saw for finish work, where the cut is seen rather than covered. Sixty teeth on a 255mm blade leave an edge clean enough for a door frame, a skirting mitre, a window reveal or a run of furniture parts, with no tear out to sand off afterwards. A 24 tooth blade cuts faster but leaves a torn edge that shows on varnished timber.

The dual belt drive is the other difference. Instead of the motor sitting directly on the arbor, a belt carries the drive across, which lifts the head higher above the table and increases the vertical cut. The supplier states the belt design also cuts noise and vibration by 30 per cent, and in a workshop where the saw runs all day that is felt as much as heard. Twin slide rails carry the head out to 300mm of width, so the saw handles 70 x 300mm with the head upright and 40 x 300mm at 45 degrees of bevel. The scales on the table, the fence and the bevel are easy to read, the laser sets the line, and the D handle keeps your wrist straight through a long session. An external brush cap means the motor brushes can be replaced without opening the housing.
