1700W Sliding Compound Mitre Saw, 210mm, 4700rpm, 340mm Cut

The sliding rails are what separate this saw from a fixed head mitre saw. Instead of being limited to the width the blade can drop through, the head pulls forward over the work, so a 340mm wide board goes through in one pass. That covers floor boards, wide shelving, stair treads, kitchen worktop offcuts and most of the timber that a fixed saw cannot reach across.

It is a bench saw for a joinery shop, a furniture maker or a site carpenter working on doors and floors. The 1 700 Watt motor turns a 210mm carbide tipped blade at 4 700 revolutions a minute, and 24 teeth crosscut framing timber quickly without labouring the motor. Capacity is 65 x 340mm with the head upright and 38 x 340mm with the blade tilted to 45 degrees. The scales on the mitre table, the fence and the bevel are printed to be read at a glance, which matters when you are changing angles all day. The laser shows the line before the blade reaches it. At 23kg this is not a saw you carry up a ladder, it sits on a bench or a stand and the work comes to it.
