Overview

A cordless chainsaw for pruning, firewood and general clearing where dragging a cable is a nuisance. No fuel to mix, no cable to keep out of the cut, and it starts on the trigger. For work around a compound or a smallholding that is usually the whole argument.

The motor is brushless, which in practice means more of the battery goes into the chain instead of into heat, and there are no brushes to wear out and replace. The bar and chain are Oregon, 10 inch, and the chain runs at 10 metres a second, which is a real cutting speed rather than a trimming one. Tension is set without tools and there is a safety switch on the adjuster. The chain brake is mechanical and patented. A window in the oil tank shows the level without opening the cap, and the whole saw is 2.7kg before you fit a battery.

Questions and answers

Does it come with a battery?
No. The battery and charger are excluded. It works with the XB-3000 up to the XB-8000 batteries and the XPP-2700 charger.
Does it still need bar oil?
Yes. The oil tank holds 100ml and has a window so you can see the level. A dry bar burns and the chain stretches, whether the saw is cordless or petrol.
How do I order and receive it?
