400W Power File, 9 x 457mm Belt, 100 Degree Pivoting Arm

A power file is a narrow belt sander for places nothing else reaches. Cleaning up a weld inside a frame, deburring a cut edge, taking rust out of a corner on a gate, filing a slot, dressing a keyway, smoothing the inside of a bracket or a pipe cut. In a fabrication shop, a garage or a motorbike workshop it does in a minute what a hand file does in twenty.

The 9mm belt is the reason. It gets into a gap that an angle grinder cannot enter and a disc sander cannot touch, and the exposed front pulley lets you work right into an internal corner or around a curved surface. The arm pivots through 100 degrees, so the belt can be set at the angle the work needs rather than the angle the tool prefers. Speed runs from 300 to 1 700 revolutions a minute, which matters because steel wants a different speed from aluminium or timber, and running too fast on soft metal loads the belt instantly. Ball and needle bearings carry the arm, and the belt changes without tools. Two 9mm belts come with it, and the machine also takes a 13mm belt.
