Overview
The entry level corded impact drill in the range, and the one that covers most of the drilling done around a house or a small workshop. Holes in block for a bracket, holes in timber for screws, holes in steel angle for bolts, and mixing paint or thinset with a paddle.
Impact mode adds a rapid hammering to the rotation, which is how a masonry bit gets through block instead of rubbing at it. The trigger gives variable speed, so a hole starts slowly and accurately and then opens up once the bit has bitten. A lock-on button holds the trigger for continuous running, which matters when you are mixing or drilling a long series of holes. Reverse backs a jammed bit out of a wall. The depth gauge sets a stop so a row of blind holes all come out the same. The chuck is a 13mm heavy duty type and the drill weighs 2.19kg.
