Overview

Setting out a tiled floor lives or dies on the first two lines. If the square is a degree off, the error grows across the room until the last row against the far wall is a visible wedge. This tool projects a true 90 degree angle on the floor or the wall, so the first tile and the first course go down square and everything after them follows.

It is not only for tiles. The same square line sets out laminate and vinyl flooring, panelling, wallpaper drops, partition studs, stencilling, wainscoting, finish carpentry, and the layout of sockets and switches on a wall. Anything where two lines have to meet properly at a right angle over a few metres. A wall mounting plate and a double bubble vial handle vertical and horizontal alignment on the wall, and the base plate has a contact edge and a scale so you can set it off a known line. The working range is 7 metres and accuracy is 0.5mm per metre.

No. It takes two AAA batteries which are not supplied, so buy a pair to go with it.
